Welcome to the home of Selective Focus Photography
A small home based photography business owned and operated by me, Scott A. Ray (sole proprietor).
I have been taking photos for years, but just for my own enjoyment. My house is full of my work as well as books full of my shoots. My wife brought one of my books into work one day just to show off my photography (she is very proud of me) and by the end of the week she had talked me into selling them all to the people who “just had to have them.” At the time it was mostly flowers, bugs (I love bugs), animals, landscapes and sports.
Sports photography has always been something that excited me. I love sports and was always looking to capture the perfect header in soccer, catch in football, shot in basketball, perfect round in show jumping or the winning spike in volleyball. There is just something in the excitement of the game, any game that I want to capture forever with my photography.
I got my professional start in portrait photography as a way to help out some High school senior friends who could not afford to have their Senior portraits taken. It was a nice way to start my portrait portfolio and it has taken off from there.
I have run portrait studios before (you all know the ones I’m talking about, go to just about any mall and you will find one). They are very good for what they are but did not give me the chance to express the creativity and passion that I feel for photography. The sit on this box smile and push the button was just not enough for me.
I have a passion to take the perfect photo and will do everything I can to get it. I take pride in what I do and my goal is to provide images which will be cherished forever. I recognize that you can choose any photographer to record your memories and hope my services, flexibility, and products will make Selective Focus Photography the easy choice.
Thanks
Scott
